When we started business 15+ years ago, local service providers in the Puerto Rico Tourism Industry were still managing bookings with day planners & frantic phone callers. We pioneered online booking long before standard taxi software, eventually building a simple 5-page drag-and-drop site (WEEBLY). It was full of early digital "slop," but through customer feedback, it evolved into a clean form-based booking system that came straight to our email, & then we'd spend hours all day & night replying to each request manually. No back office & no admin dashboard, but that simple setup sustained us for 15+ years. Everything changed when we received notice that our drag-and-drop server hosting was shutting down by the end of 2025, pushing us toward complex alternatives like WordPress or tempting us to pay scammy app developers promising an "Uber clone". Because I didn't know coding, my early AI vibe-coding attempts burned through credits because I tried prompting piece-by-piece. Realizing I had to take this seriously, I upgraded to Base44 builder, dove into Reddit & SaaS literature, & learned the hard fundamentals: code architecture, UI/UX flow, & locking down backend exposures. We rolled out in January 2026 my vision, a mobile web app built without off-the-shelf cookie-cutter software. If certain UI patterns feel familiar, it's intentional; our customers demand a frictionless experience, with integrations that feel familiar. Every single link & feature is deliberately engineered to solve real consumer needs, proving in the end that being pushed down this path with AI has been an absolute blessing that finally gave us, our lives back.
